We’re thrilled that you’re sharing your story with us today. Feel free to briefly introduce yourself – why is fitness so important to you? What motivated you to get active and stay fit?
Hi! My name is Sara Santi, I’m 33 years old and I’m a personal coach by profession.
Before I found my way to fitness, I was lacking balance. As a single parent, it’s hard to juggle everything – even though you need to. At one point, I became so desperately in need of balance that I decided to start working on myself through fitness. After that… Well, the rest is history. I just noticed that my body needs movement, and that’s the only way I can avoid tensing up and suffering from back pain.
This all happened about 2.5 years ago, when I decided to make my passion my profession. At that time – before acquiring my licences – I worked in a small studio. And soon, I knew that working in fitness would end up being my destiny. Sports has always been a part of my life, but more recently I discovered that it also helps me keep my balance.
How did you find VAHA? What convinced you to join?
A friend of mine recommended the mirror to me because I was looking for more variety, and of course I was pretty curious to see what was hiding behind the VAHA. What I loved most was how independant it made me, and how much it helped me maintain my health and fitness during the pandemic. Also, working out with a community was a fun way to keep me motivated.
What do you like most about VAHA?
VAHA adapts to my lifestyle – I can flexibly schedule my workouts and decide what I want to do according to my mood. Variety is also very important to me, and the VAHA definitely gives me that option.
What successes have you already achieved with your VAHA and over what period of time?
VAHA has helped me to improve my flexibility, which means that I hardly have any tension in my neck or shoulders anymore. I could feel the improvement after two weeks already!
On top of that, I was able to slowly familiarise myself with meditation. This was a huge step, as I always found it difficult to meditate by myself. Now thanks to my VAHA, I actually enjoy being guided into relaxation.
Was there a moment in your VAHA Journey that really impressed you? What has helped you the most to integrate fitness and a healthy lifestyle into your everyday life?
I’m so much more conscious of my body now – in a positive way! The trainers are super knowledgeable and explain things so well that I feel like I always learn something new about myself and my body.
Although having a healthy lifestyle has always been important to me, VAHA just gives me that push and broadens my spectrum. Plus, when I’m not feeling super creative in my job as a personal coach, I can always consult my VAHA for inspiration.
What feature on your VAHA could you not live without?
I’m really happy about the Spotify feature, because I can either start my day with music or continue with my favourite audiobook.
What tip would you give to those who are just starting their fitness journey?
Patience is key! You should always try to stay consistent, as it’s the journey that’s the destination. Fitness is a way of life that everyone could benefit from integrating into their everyday life. Although the first steps are hard, it keeps getting easier from workout to workout, and especially after achieving those first triumphs.
Are there any other experiences or thoughts you would like to share with us?
Finding the balance between everything is sometimes hard, but instead of over-analysing it, you should try to simply listen to your body. The body is intuitive and lets you know what it needs if you’re able to catch its signals. So befriend your body and make time to respond to its needs!
